The Jewish cemetery in Dąbrowa Górnicza was established in 1929. Enclosed by a wall, destroyed during World War II and in the post-war years. The devastation process progressed along with the expansion of the surrounding estate. In 1993, a monument was erected in the necropolis with the following text: "This was the place where the Jewish cemetery in Dąbrowa Górnicza and its vicinity was destroyed during the German occupation during World War II" - it was forgotten to add that the cemetery was destroyed long after the war.
Behind the monument, on the slope, there are matzevot found in a destroyed cemetery. A careful observer will find many more scattered, larger or smaller fragments of tombstones. To this day, the area has not been secured, developed or restored to the role it should fulfill.
